Summary

  • Saily Seas does not ask you to create an account and we do not run servers that store your personal information.
  • Advertising in the game is delivered by Unity LevelPlay and Unity Ads, which collect your device's advertising identifier and technical information to show and measure ads.
  • Leaderboards and achievements use Google Play Games Services on Android and Apple Game Center on iOS, under your existing Google or Apple account.
  • Purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your payment details.
  • Buying the premium upgrade removes advertising from the game.
  • You can contact us at any time at [email protected].

Information we collect

Advertising and device identifiers. When ads are shown, the advertising software in the game (Unity LevelPlay, which mediates Unity Ads) collects your device's advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS where you have allowed tracking), IP address, device model, operating system, language, approximate location derived from IP address, and information about ad views and clicks. This is used to deliver ads, measure their performance, prevent fraud and, where permitted, personalise ads.
Gameplay and analytics. The game records anonymous events such as levels played, game overs, purchases offered and declined, and session length through Unity Analytics. This data is aggregated and is used to understand how the game is played and to fix problems. It is not used to identify you.
Game services. If you sign in to Google Play Games Services or Apple Game Center, Google or Apple provide us with your player identifier, display name and avatar, and we submit your scores and achievements to your account. Saily Seas also reads your Play Games friends list so that friends can be shown on leaderboards. Sign-in is optional and governed by your Google or Apple account settings.
Purchases. The premium upgrade is sold through Google Play Billing or Apple's App Store. The store processes the payment and tells the game that the purchase succeeded. We receive no card or billing details. A record that the upgrade was bought is stored on your device and in your store account so that it can be restored.
Correspondence. If you email us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your request.
Website. This website uses Google Analytics cookies to measure visits and is served through Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses to deliver content and protect against abuse. The website has no sign-up, accounts or forms.

How we use information

  • To operate the game and its features, including leaderboards, achievements and purchases.
  • To show advertising to players who have not bought the premium upgrade, and to measure that advertising.
  • To understand how the game is played and to find and fix bugs.
  • To respond to you when you contact us.
  • To comply with legal obligations and the policies of the Google Play and Apple App Store platforms.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your information for purposes unrelated to the game and this website.

Third parties

The following companies process information on their own terms when you play the game or use the website. We encourage you to read their policies.
Ads shown through LevelPlay may come from Unity Ads or other advertising networks that Unity mediates. Those networks receive the advertising and device information described above when they serve an ad.

Your advertising choices

  • Buying the premium upgrade removes advertising from the game.
  • On Android, open Settings, then Google, then Ads, and choose to delete your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalisation.
  • On iOS, open Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Tracking, and turn off Allow Apps to Request to Track. Where you have not allowed tracking, the game does not access your IDFA.
  • Where the law requires consent for personalised advertising, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Unity presents its own consent choices within the ad experience and honours your selection.

Children

Saily Seas and this website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We treat all players as a general audience and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention and deletion

We do not operate servers that hold player accounts or profiles, so there is no account to delete with us. Information stored on your device, including game progress and the premium purchase record, is removed when you uninstall the game. Leaderboard and achievement data is held in your Google Play Games or Game Center account and can be managed or deleted through Google or Apple. Advertising and analytics data held by Unity is retained according to Unity's policies, and you can exercise your rights directly with Unity through the links above. Correspondence with us is deleted when it is no longer needed.

Security and international transfers

We take reasonable steps to protect information in our care from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. The third parties named above operate globally, so information they collect may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, under their own safeguards.

Your rights

Australia. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. You may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you by contacting us. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
European Economic Area and United Kingdom. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process information on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating and improving the game and showing advertising, your consent where personalised advertising requires it, and performance of a contract for purchases. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California and other US states. Where state privacy laws apply, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used and shared, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. To opt out of sharing for advertising, use the advertising choices described above or contact us.
To exercise any right, email us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We do not charge a fee for requests.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are published at https://sailyseas.impactbluestudios.com/privacy with a new date. Continued use of the game or website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
